Below are brief details of a few of the projects I have managed
I have project managed the design, and construction of buildings in Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast in  Australia; and Auckland, New Zealand.

I have worked on the Mass Transit Railway in Hong Kong, and the Kornhill Development in Hong Kong - now home to 35,000 people.

 I was the project manager for a 35 storey office tower in the centre of Bangkok, Thailand; where I also project managed a 27 storey, 68 unit apartment block.

In Yangon, Myanmar, I project managed a 12 storey retail and office development.

In China I have project managed the construction of a 27 hole golf course and club house.
I have completed two waste transfer stations in Hong Kong, which also included the project managing of the design and construction of three ships in China.

HILTON - SWIMMING POOL REPLACEMENT


The Hilton Brisbane was constructed in 1985 and the swimming pool on the eighth floor was leaking badly and needed to be replaced. 


480 QUEEN STREET


I was the Independent Certifier for this office block at the above address in Brisbane, Australia.  The investor was Dexus Holdings and the developer and contractor was various permutations of Grocon, one of Australia's largest construction companies.


MACKAY SHOW GROUND - NEW DISPLAY PAVILION


This project involved a new display pavilion, and a first floor addition to the existing 500 pavilion.


INTERNATIONAL BUDDHIST ASSOCIATION QUEENSLAND


Located at 1034 Underwood Road, Priestdale Qld 4127. This project was an extension to it public car parking, a gallery building and the main gate. 


'BLUE ASTER' WEDDING CHAPEL - GUAM.


Built for Watabe Wedding Corp in Japan for Japanese couples seeking an overseas wedding. The chapel is on the water's edge of Tumon Bay in Guam and has three wedding banquet rooms below the chapel.

 HOTEL DAY SPA

The Day Spa, comprising four separate villa units and a reception building was constructed on the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia in 2004.



BREAK FREE GRAND PACIFIC RESORT - CALOUNDRA


I was the Payment Certifier for the financiers of this development, meeting on site with the contractor every month to inspect the progress of the works, discuss, agree and certify its payment claim.


 LIVINGWELL GYM & FITTNESS CLUB

LivingWell Australia Pty Ltd purchased a partially constructed gymnasium in the suburb of Carindale, Brisbane. The contract was completed at a cost of almost $12 million in September 2001.

MACADAMIA PROCESSING


After over twenty years in Asia, we returned to Australia, opting for Queensland as its climate was similar to what we were used to in Asia. And after a six months holiday joined Incoll TPC Pty Ltd to project this huge new cold storage room for macadamia nut processing in northern NSW.


WEST KOWLOON TRANSFER STATION, HONG KONG

 

The West Kowloon Transfer Station is the largest of nine waste transfer stations in Hong Kong, and is designed to process 2,875 tonnes of waste per day.


NORTH LANTAU REFUSE TRANSFER STATION - HONG KONG.

 

The North Lantau Refuse Transfer Station was an Airport Core Project built to service the new Airport on Lantau Island in Hong Kong and the surrounding future property developments..


ABDULRAHIM PLACE, 990 RAMA IV ROAD, BANGKOK, THAILAND

 

990 Rama IV Road is a thirty-five storey office tower, which was completed in the middle of 1996, at a cost of US$100m.


FMI CENTRE, YANGON, MYANMAR

 

From the middle of 1992 to the middle of 1994 I traveled each month to Myanmar to provide Project Management advice, overseeing the planning and construction of the twelve storey retail and office building, the FMI Centre. The building was completed in early in 1995 at a cost of about US$7 million.


SAND RIVER GOLF CLUB, SHENZHEN, CHINA.

 

From January 1994 to December 1995 I spent half of each month in Hong Kong project managing the Shenzhen Sand River Golf Club project, coordinating an international group of consultant's in the planning, design, tendering, programming, cost control and construction.

LANGSUAN COURT - BANGKOK, THAILAND

 

Langsuan Court is a five storey, seven unit luxury apartment block in the heart of Bangkok.

BANGKOK SECOND STAGE EXPRESSWAY


Towards the end of 1989 I was recruited by Kumagi Gumi and I left Hong Kong to workon the Second Stage Expressway project in Bangkok, Thailand.



Upon the completion of the Tai Wo Hau contract in 1981, I was transferred to the Hang Lung Development's Joint Venture office of this massive development above Taikoo Station on the Island Line of the underground railway.

This was a special joint venture project between the MTRC and Hang Lung Development Co.

Forty-two tower blocks provide 8,800 units, accommodating 35,000 people. Two commercial blocks, two primary schools, swimming pools, tennis courts and car parking.  Built at a cost of approximately HK$3,000,000,000 (US$385m) in the 1980's.

MASS TRANSIT RAILWAY CORPORATION


In 1979 I was recruited, in Melbourne, by the Mass Transit Railway Corporation to work on the Tsuen Wan extension to the Hong Kong underground railway.

This was the beginning of nearly 21-years working in Asia that besides Hong Kong, took me to Bangkok, Thailand; Yangon, Myanmar; and Shen Zen and some other cities in China.

ROYAL MELBOURNE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY


I commenced my career in Project Management in the Buildings & Properties Branch of RMIT, coming in at the end of what was then known as Wing B and moving in the Electrical Engineering Department, Depart of Surveying. Then worked on Wing A on the corner of Swanston and Franklin Streets containing the Departments of Applied Chemistry, Applied Biology, Applied Physics and Food Science and Technology. I prepared in collaboration with the academic department the design brief and saw the construction through and finally the contracts for the relocation of the departments to the new building. I was Secretary to the Master Planning Committee, and worked on several other projects in and around the main campus.
